The Last Monday [Soylent Blogrimage 24/30]

Today is the last Monday of this challenge. Next week, at this time, I will enjoy a tasty something. Not sure what the first meal will be. A Hamburger? Pizza? Curry? Dessert? All of these are viable options.

Nate's horrible attempt at making Soylent with Coffee and Pop.

Today is the last Monday of this challenge. Next week, at this time, I will enjoy a tasty something. Not sure what the first meal will be. A Hamburger? Pizza? Curry? Dessert? All of these are viable options.

My desire to eat Soylent is diminishing. The less I eat, the worse I feel. My brain clarity, mood and energy fall quite a bit when I eat little amounts of Soylent. I've got to eat more and I'll feel better. The taste and the monotony reduces my will though. I have to avoid just coasting in the end. Gonna step up my Soylent game with baked Soylent treats this week. It definitely gives me something to look forward to.

Other than that, the hope of eating fuels me.

Also, I think I'll keep Soylent as a breakfast replacement after this challenge.

FEELINGS:

  • Slight Headache
  • Low Energy
  • Loss of Appetite
  • Counting the days

Got Ordained, Family Came into Town, We partied, I did not Eat [Soylent 23/30]

Cornerstone Church ordained me as a pastor today. My family traveled from California, Kansas, Indiana and Minnesota to celebrate the occasion. After traveling all that way to celebrate me, I did not eat any food with them. We went to my favorite restaurant in Michigan, had a party, I did not eat. This is a bummer. I'm used to it. Something that helps me deal with the bummer feeling is that it will be a great story.

Forever, I will think fondly on my Cornerstone Church ordination and remember that I had not eaten for 23 days. I can already see my grandchildren smiling and weeping with pride.

So glad my family came into town on this special occasion! Of course, they wanted to try Soylent and they all hated it. Not surprising.

FEELINGS:

  • Bummed I couldn't eat at the Party
  • Glad I stuck to the challenge
  • Lost 9 Pounds total
  • Clear Mind
  • Great Energy

Got a Medical Endorsement [Soylent Blogrimage 22/30]

My sister, Pradeepa, asked me to see a doctor about this Soylent experience. She is concerned for my health and isn't convinced that this journey is healthy, even considering my statement, "I feel great." She says, medically, that doesn't make sense. It's quite debatable.

So, I asked a nurse practitioner if I'm healthy and she said yes. So what if she's my mother in law? She said I'm healthy! Holla back.

A medical endorsement is assuring. I consider this experience official in every sense of the word.

FEELINGS:

  • I feel great!
  • High Energy
  • Clear Mind
  • Positive outlook
  • Great skin
  • Bright eyes
  • Extremely defined and developed muscles

Three Weeks Completed! [Soylent Blogrimage 21/30]

Challenges like this bring out negative feelings. There are positive aspects to Soylent, though. Besides not eating for 3 weeks now, facing hunger, socially awkward situations, I've experienced some positives.

Not dealing with the hassle of buying food and preparing is freeing. So much of our daily efforts are put into acquiring and preparing food. On top of that, deciding what food we eat. Do you want to go to Burger King? I don't know, maybe White Castle. How about the Melting Pot? The simplicity of not choosing allows me to harness brain energy for more demanding tasks.

I also feel lighter and clearer. Food often, when I'm not eating very healthy, causes me to feel sluggish. My mind is very clear on this stuff. There is no way people are getting all their vitamins. With Soylent, I'm confident that I'm getting 100% of the Vitamins I need, and my body loves me for it.

FEELINGS:

  • Hungry for real food
  • Low energy
  • Crabby

Two-Thirds Complete! [Soylent Blogrimage 20/30]

Sometimes you need to celebrate the little things. Today, I'm 2/3 finished with the challenge! Tomorrow, I've completed 3 weeks and only have 1 week left!

Sometimes you need to celebrate the little things. Today, I'm 2/3 finished with the challenge! Tomorrow, I've completed 3 weeks and only have 1 week left!

Those victories are very motivating.

I hate Soylent. I'm running out of whey protein and need to restock tomorrow.

Everyone once in awhile, I get a whiff of the Soylent smell, and I want to throw up like I did on day 1. Other times, I take a sip and it tastes delicious. My body isn't sure what to do anymore.

FEELINGS:

  • Low Energy
  • Feeling Light
  • Down 7 Pounds total

Non Liquid Soylent [Soylent Blogrimage 19/30]

I'm thinking about making a soylent I can chew.

For Variety, my next challenge within this challenge is to bake the Soylent. I'm not going to change any of the ingredients. I'm only going to change the form of Soylent I eat. The inspiration comes from this blog

Besides some variety, I also want to this because I need more stuff to write about. Ha. This blog can get real boring unless I think of some other interesting things to include.

It'll be nice to chew something.

FEELINGS:

  • High Energy
  • Craving Real Food
  • Growling Stomach
  • Still losing weight
